Terms of use
Fareesta.com is run by Fareesta Essentials Private Limited, a company registered in India. By buying or selling here you agree to what is written below. It is short on purpose.

What Fareesta is
Fareesta is a marketplace. The goods are sold by the sellers listed on each product page, not by us. We run the platform, check the sellers in person before they are allowed to list, take payment on their behalf, and pass on their share.
Fareesta Essentials Private Limited also sells its own goods here. Where that is the case, the seller name on the listing says so, and the same fee and the same rules apply to us as to anybody else.
What we check, and what we do not claim
Before a seller goes live, somebody from Fareesta visits their unit or shop, looks at the goods, and writes a report that is published with their listings. Where a category calls for it, individual products are opened and inspected as well.
That is a record of one visit, on one date, by one named person. It is not:
- •a guarantee that every unit is identical — much of this is handmade work
- •a claim that the price is the lowest anywhere
- •a manufacturer's warranty, unless the seller gives one in writing
Buying
No account is needed. You give a name, a phone number and an address, and that is all we ask for. An order becomes binding when the seller accepts it; until then either side can cancel it without any cost.
Prices include GST. The delivery charge, if any, is shown before you confirm. Payment is currently by cash on delivery. Online payment will be added once our payment gateway account is approved, and nothing on this page changes when it is.
Selling
Fareesta charges a single fee of 15% of the price the customer pays: 5% towards the transaction — the payment gateway, shipping and running the platform — and 10% as our margin. There is no listing fee, no monthly fee and no storage fee, and nothing else is deducted.
The split is worked out at the moment the order is placed and written onto the order. If the fee changes later it cannot reach back into an order you have already accepted.
Selling here means agreeing to:
- •list only goods you actually hold or make, and photograph the real thing yourself
- •let somebody from Fareesta visit and inspect the goods, without notice being an issue
- •send what was ordered, in the condition described, within the time stated
- •accept returns as set out on the returns page
- •hold the rights to sell what you list, and to the pictures you upload
A seller who lists goods they do not have, or who ships something other than what was shown, is removed and any money held is used to make the buyer whole first.
Getting paid
A seller’s share is released after the order is delivered and the return window has closed — currently seven days after delivery. It goes to the bank account on file. Where an order is returned, the share is not released.
What belongs to whom
Photographs a seller uploads remain theirs. By listing them here a seller lets Fareesta show them on the site and use them to promote the listing. Photographs taken by a Fareesta inspector during a visit belong to the seller as well, and they may use them anywhere — including on other platforms. The Fareesta name, mark and the inspection certificates are ours.
Where we stop
We are responsible for running the platform honestly, for checking sellers as described, and for the money we hold. We are not liable for indirect losses — lost profit, lost time, or a missed occasion — beyond the value of the order in question.
Nothing here takes away a consumer’s rights under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act and its e-commerce rules.
Disagreements
Write to us first. Almost everything is settled that way, usually the same day. If it is not, these terms are governed by Indian law and the courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, will have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and an order is always governed by the version that was live when it was placed.
Anything here that is unclear, or that you think is unfair — write to us and say so. We would rather change the page than argue about it later.
